THE LORD’S SUPPER
- There is one and only one God. God the Father is God. He is a spiritual and personal being, the Creator, Preserver and Ruler of the universe. He is all-loving, all-just, all-wise, and all-powerful (Genesis 1:1; John 4:24).
JESUS CHRIST
- Jesus Christ is God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death (1st Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11).
HOLY SPIRIT
- The Holy Spirit is God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in all Christians from the moment of salvation, providing them with power for living and guidance in doing what is right (John 16:7-13; Galatians 5:22-25).
THE BIBLE
- The Bible is the historical record of God’s activity written by mankind but inspired by God’s Spirit. It contains no error. It reveals the plan, purpose, and will of God for all time (Psalm 119:105; 2nd Timothy 3:16).
CHURCH
- The Church is a group of believers brought together by the Spirit of God to carry out the Great Commandment, fulfill the New Commandment, and practice the Great Commission (Ephesians 2:22; Matthew 22:37-40; John 15:12,17; Matthew 28:18-20).
SALVATION
- All mankind since the fall of Adam have sinned, and thus, need to be saved from its consequences. Salvation is the gift of God for all humanity and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. It was obtained by Jesus’ death on the cross on behalf of all those who so believe, and once received, it cannot be lost (Genesis 2:16-17, Genesis 3:17-24; Romans 3:9-12 Romans 5:8-9; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 4:30; 2nd Timothy 2:13).
HUMANITY
- Men and women were created by a special work of God in His image and are the finest of all creation. They were created innocent, but with a free choice they sinned against God and fell from their original condition and relationship with God (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23).
BAPTISM
- Baptism is an outward expression of an inward change that has occurred in the life of the believer. It is identification with Jesus by portraying His death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4).
THE LORD’S SUPPER
- The Lord’s Supper is a memorial service where we remember Jesus’ sacrifice. The bread and cup are symbols of His broken body and shed blood which were given for our salvation (Luke 22:19-20).
