About the Director
A leading voice in his areas of expertise, Allen Richard “Rick” Young, PhD, D.Litt, currently works with churches for
emergency pre-planning and management, and engages in overseas missionary work including security of teams he
accompanies to foreign locations. Prior to his current positions, he excelled as a Federal criminal investigator until his
retirement as a senior special agent in 1999. Dr. Young is the author of “Matters of Consequence: Critical Eschatological Issues Impacting Endtime Preparation,” his
doctoral dissertation, and “Combat Police: U.S. Army Military Police in Vietnam,” a publication he dedicated to his sons. This book shined a new light on the overlooked activities of the military police of the Vietnam War that may not have been
included in an earlier set of monographs, “Vietnam Study Series,” published by the U.S. Army in the early 1970s. Dr.
Young’s account, now in a second edition, includes detailed information on military police organization, news articles from
“The Roundup,” an official newspaper of the military police who served in Vietnam, as well as a handful of personal
accounts that provide a “foxhole” perspective in that war with No Frontlines. Perhaps most significantly, the publication was the result of Dr. Young’s desire to eliminate any confusion as to his
involvement in what many have believed to be a vain effort, as well as to provide a systematically concise understanding of combat police operations. Moreover, he has co-authored publications including “Beyond the Laces,” “Super Achievers: The
Ten Proven Principles of Success,” and the 3-book “Aiden’s Cauldron Trilogy,” and is a contributing editor to the “Nelson Eschatology Study Bible.” Dr. Young began his career with the United States Army, completing his service with the military police from 1967 to 1970, during which time he also served in Vietnam from May 1968 to December 1969, initially as a
sentry dog handler, then as a machine gunner on a river patrol boat, and finally as a rifleman in a two-man riverine
reconnaissance team. Dr. Young then pursued an education at Pasadena City College, where he earned an Associate of Arts in pre-law political science in 1975. He continued his studies with a Bachelor of Science in investigative criminal justice from California State
University at Los Angeles in 1977. Subsequently, he enrolled at Philadelphia Biblical University (now, Cairn University)
in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, obtaining a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership in 2001. Dr. Young concluded his
academic efforts in 2018 at the Luder-Wycliffe Theological Seminary in Endicott, New York, graduating with a Doctor of
Philosophy (PhD) in Eschatology in 2018, and also being awarded then that higher education facility’s Pioneer Award for
groundbreaking research in his doctoral dissertation. Relative to that, he also previously received the 3-year Advanced
Biblical Studies Certification from Liberty University in 1983. The springboard of his law enforcement career, Dr. Young entered the military straight out of high school and was assigned
to duty with the U.S. Army military police. This experience significantly helped launch his criminal justice career. His
work with the Federal government primarily consisted of criminal investigative work for the executive department and
included opportunities to travel overseas for his cases when assigned to the U.S. Department of State. Cross-trained by the
U.S. Secret Service in Dignitary Protection, for five years he split his time between investigation work as well as protection of the U.S. Secretary of Labor, where he worked as a Team Detail Leader, overseeing protection operations for that Cabinet Post member, at times, nationwide, and which included a White House Pass with access to that facility. Throughout his career, Dr. Young has been celebrated for his contributions to the field. He has received a number of
Meritorious Commendations for complex Federal criminal investigations, to include that from the Director of the Federal
Bureau of Investigation for an elaborate organized crime case, and from the U.S. Secretary of Labor as a Team Leader on
her Protection Detail. He was also notably presented with a Distinguished Service Medal from the state of New Jersey, as
well as the unit Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm citation from the Republic of South Vietnam through the U.S.
Army, the (rare for a military policeman) Army Sea Duty Ribbon, and the Vietnam Service Ribbon with one Silver and one
Bronze Service Star, all received for his military service in the Vietnam War. Likewise, Dr. Young has been featured in
numerous publications, including the U.S. Army Military Police Bulletin magazine, the Vietnam Veterans of America VVA
Veteran magazine, the Philadelphia Biblical University PBU Today magazine, the Who's Who in the East, and is the
recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. Dr. Young is the Director of the Bible-based Emergency Preparation Ministry [ www.BiblePreparationMinistry.org ] currently providing insights into preparation for potential future emergencies, as well as crafting anti-terrorist (security)
protocols for missionary teams he accompanied overseas to such locations as Kabul, Afghanistan and the trackless Kaisut
Desert of Kenyan Africa, amongst others. He is also the President of the Board of Directors of the Allaire Community Farm,
located in Wall Township, New Jersey, [ www.allairecommunityfarm.org ] an organization dedicated to rescued animal
recovery, special needs adults and children, teens facing mental health issues, veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
(PTSD), and families battling cancer. For his lifetime accomplishments, and his current ministry achievements, Dr. Young received an honorary Doctor of Sacred
Letters (D.Litt) from the Wycliffe Theological Seminary in June 2023.
